October has arrived and so has lots of strong winds, hot sun and even predictions of snow on the Drakensberg mountains! Crazy temperatures go from under 20 degrees celsius to late 30's from day to day! Nothing is very predictable these days except our wool crafts that we can do no matter what the temperature! I have moved onto smaller items to knit and added some weaving into the mix. Weaving with both my huge stash of handspun and some of my commercially spun but hand-dyed yarns is wonderful as there is nothing sitting on your lap heating you up so it will become a great Summer occupation! Of course knitting is still happening when I join up with my knitting and crocheting friends at a local garden coffee shop that we love and whose owner is a crocheting crazy friend! There is a new addition to the shop - Handknits - at the moment only fingerless mittens but more items will be added as they are knitted. Everything will be knitted with Yarn Stash yarns. This began as a way to show off the yarns at fibre fairs/markets but non-knitting customers wanted them so I decided to extend to include Handknits! |
