Yarn Stash PMB is owned and operated by Wendy Bloy, whose love for dyeing came after learning to spin 16 years ago, along with her need for beautiful, unique roving and wool. Soon, she began dyeing her own, which developed into a small home-based online business.  She uses South African merino wool, with yarn bases including 100% wool and a blend of merino and nylon. She is dedicated to using locally mill-spun yarns, which best showcase the multitude of colours that Yarn Stash PMB produces. Yarn Stash PMB’s dye lots are intentionally small so that every customer has the opportunity to knit, crochet, or weave a unique item for themselves. There are rarely duplicates of colourways except by special request so that every customer can produce something one-of-a-kind.  Wendy often gravitates towards her favourite colours, but she moves out of her comfort zone when something inspires her. Wendy uses commercial acid dyes while endeavouring to be as environmentally careful and waterwise as possible and maintain a smoke and pet-hair-free environment. This process is done manually by herself either on the stove or outside, using our abundant South African sun in solar dyeing. Her daughter sometimes joins her, and they collaborate on ideas and colourways.
